Don’t miss what promises to be a hugely entertaining evening with jazz musicians Alan Barnes and David Newton. Probably Britain’s most respected jazz saxophone and piano duo, they cover a vast repertoire from Louis Armstrong to Chick Corea, flawlessly played with a musical empathy that can only be gained from long experience.
Their latest album: ‘Tis Autumn’ is available on Woodville Records. The Times says it’s: ‘A relaxed vibe and peerless duet playing defines this recording, as two seasoned figures (and long term collaborators) on the UK jazz scene have their empathic way with a thoughtful choice of repertoire.’

Following the sold-out success in April of David McPhie’s collaboration with music legend Dave Berry, the pair are hosting a larger event on 23rd July at the Palace Hotel, Buxton, during Buxton Fringe Festival. This face to face experience will see Dave talk about his ’60 Years On The Road’. In conversation, in person, Dave recalls and entertains with stories from his pioneering days in Sheffield in the early 60s to his many Top Twenty hits during a six-decade career. Including his encounters with the Beatles, the Stones and many more big names in the entertainment industry, plus his World Tours and European Superstardom. An honest and humorous entertainer, this event is sure to sell out fast and be a highlight of this year’s Buxton Fringe Festival
